Cassandra is an experienced Ontario estate litigation lawyer representing estate trustees, beneficiaries, spouses, and dependants in complex disputes involving will challenges, testamentary capacity, undue influence, power of attorney disputes, guardianship applications, and fiduciary accounting matters. She is committed to delivering strategic, efficient, and principled advocacy in emotionally charged estate conflicts.
As a passionate advocate, Cassandra provides exceptional client service through meticulous preparation, practical advice, and a compassionate approach. While fully prepared to litigate when necessary, her goal is to identify the most efficient and cooperative path to resolution whenever possible—helping clients achieve meaningful finality while preserving estate assets.
Cassandra obtained her Honours B.A. in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph before earning her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, one of Canada’s leading law schools. At Osgoode, she focused her studies on civil litigation, estates, trusts, and dispute resolution, developing a strong foundation in fiduciary law and courtroom advocacy.
She summered and articled at a respected Toronto estate litigation boutique and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2020. Cassandra later practiced as an independent contractor, managing her own estate litigation files and appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, before joining Friedman Estate Litigation in 2022 and becoming a partner in 2026.
Her practice reflects emerging trends in Ontario estate disputes, including litigation involving cognitive decline, elder financial abuse, intergenerational dependency, blended families, and high-conflict estate administration. Cassandra combines strategic legal analysis with emotional intelligence—an essential balance in modern estate litigation.
Based in Barrie, Ontario, Cassandra serves clients throughout Ontario and regularly advises on estate disputes across the province.
Outside the office, Cassandra spends time with her partner and daughter, enjoys lakeside living in Barrie in every season, and (not so secretly) keeps up with reality dating television.
